Hi, I’m Jonathan Riess, I’m a seasoned professional with extensive experience in procurement and logistics. Over the past 13 years, I served as the Procurement & Logistics Manager. In this role, I was responsible for managing the procurement of zinc raw materials and handling transportation logistics.
Beyond this, I oversaw commercial negotiations, nurturing supplier and customer relationships, as well sourcing zinc residues for recycling projects. In addition, I successfully forged strategic partnerships with renowned global resources and producers specializing in zinc-based materials, including notable entities such as Zinsa, Rezinal and more. Today at Jr metals & Chemicals trading, I have taken my skills ‘in-house’ and now operate my own trading and distribution business across the Middle East, Turkey, and beyond, offering a comprehensive range of tailored services to meet clients where they are. Our clients span diverse industries, including painting, rubber, feed, fertilizers, and pharmaceuticals. Through my wealth of knowledge and extensive connections in the field, I have forged invaluable industry connections for my clients and myself, enabling me to offer wide-ranging support and market access in the Middle East, Turkey, the EU, South America, and Central America. My primary focus revolves around zinc oxide, zinc by products(metallics ), KCL-Potassium Chloride(Dead Sea origin) and other metals, providing a reliable monthly supply sourced from trustworthy resources. I take pride in sourcing various zinc oxide types and grades, such as feed grade, powder, dust, and zinc oxide gold seal. My heightened interest in the global metal market means I continually monitor market trends, pricing fluctuations, and supply-demand dynamics. This ensures that my clients receive the most valuable industry insights, allowing them to make well-informed decisions regarding procurement and distribution strategies. My ultimate goal is to provide my clients with a competitive edge in an ever-evolving industry, whether identifying emerging market opportunities or mitigating potential risks. Let’s connect and talk about the future of your business!
Zinc is the fourth most common metal in use, trailing only iron, aluminum, and copper with an annual production of about 13 million tons
70% of the world's zinc originates from mining, while the remaining 30% comes from recycling secondary zinc.
The metal is hard and brittle at most temperatures but becomes malleable between 100 and 150 °C. Above 210 °C, the metal becomes brittle again and can be pulverized by beating.
Zinc is a fair conductor of electricity.
